After I burned out from teaching for the better part of a decade, I decided that I needed to change careers.  Unfortunately I didn’t have enough money saved up just to retire, so it meant that I had to go back to school and pick a new field of study.  I had always been fascinated with the health services field, so I decided to take courses that would help me find a job in that area.  Now, just a few years later, I am in the process of finding a new place to work.

Originally I was a little worried about being back on the job market looking for work, but as it turns out, I picked the right field to work in.  Everywhere I turn, I see want ads for people with any type of education in the health services field.  I suppose this is mainly due to the fact that the population in our country is aging, and there is a need for qualified professionals to replace the existing workers as they retire.

So, in many respects, I have my choice of where I want to work.  Whether I decide to work at a hospital, a cord blood storage facility, or even at a little community clinic, I think I will enjoy my new career.  There is nothing quite like helping people.
